About this item
- High-Impact Resistant, Industrial Grade, Durable Plastic (ABS & PVC): These burglar bars provide a strong barrier to prevent intruders from entering through open windows or open sliding patio doors. Designed to withstand repeated force, they allow windows to remain open while securely blocking access when windows are set at safe open heights. An excellent backup security solution for times when windows are left unlocked.
- Extendable & Adjustable: Customize the window opening with 13 adjustable settings. Lock the desired height in place with the simple push of the pin. Ideal for use with single-hung windows, sliding windows, and patio doors. When the window makes contact with the Lock-it Block-it window security bar, it’s stopped from moving any further.
- Quick & Easy Installation: Our window lock bar and sliding door security bar requires no tools as it securely stays in the window track with the included adhesive strips. It doesn’t fall out when the window is lowered and can be easily removed in emergencies. A perfect alternative to unsightly wooden blocks that doesn’t adjust, it fits discreetly in the window track without obstructing your view.
- Anti-Theft and Childproof: Our theft-deterrent window bars feature a distinctive double-headed push pin that offers added resistance against forced entry. Our adjustable cylinders combined are as thick as two nickels for optimal strength. When properly installed and adjusted, the device remains out of reach from burglars trying to reach in from the outside. Additionally, the Lock-it Block-it helps prevent children from accidental falls when windows are blocked at a safe height.
- Measure Windows: Before purchasing, measure the window or door track where the device will be installed. This model extends from 17 inches to 2.5 feet (opt for Extra-Long or King-Size for larger openings). Ensure the track is slightly wider than 1 inch, as the bar measures 1x1 inch on all sides. Note: When fully closed, there may be a 1-2 inch gap in some windows. Despite this, it still effectively blocks the window from further opening, providing added security as a blocking solution.
